John Foggle, MD

John L. Foggle, MD, MBA, is an assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University, and is an attending emergency physician at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's Hospital.

Dr. Foggle earned his Bachelor of Arts from Dartmouth College in 1981, his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1989, and his MBA from the Yale School of Management in 1997. He has completed residencies in internal medicine and emergency medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and is board-certified in both specialties. His areas of academic interest include international emergency medicine - he has worked in China, Haiti, Liberia, the Middle East, the Ukraine, and Vietnam - disaster planning, and simulator-based medical education.

In addition to his medical teaching and clinical work, Dr. Foggle has worked as a health care consultant at both community and academic medical centers. His work has included: redesigning hospital admissions processes, formulating Graduate Medical Education strategies, aiding financial performance and operational efficiency, creating business plans for mergers of hospital systems, designing faculty compensation plans and developing clinical disaster plans for the State of Connecticut.
